Piran is small town which is a cultural monument of Slovenian Istria and the closest neighbour of Portorož. Town is beloved by visitors and by the eye of the camera, its image is known all over the world. Its architecture is influenced by the Venetian Republic. Main Square is called Tartini Square and is the gem found in the very centre of Piran. Piran is a member of the European Walled Cities Association. Today town is National historical monument earn their living mainly by tourism. Town is very much alive especially in summer time when numerous events take place. Its patron saint is St. George which Church raises above the town.
