Spend your holidays and green and embark on a journey though the Slovenian Alps, travel along the emerald river of Soča and enjoy the most amazing views of the white mountain peaks. The programme is created for explorers, who wish to get away from the crowds and spend the break just the way they want. P R OG R AMM E DAY 1: ARRIVAL TO LJUBLJANA AIRPORT AND DRIVE TO KRANJSKA GORA FOR OVERNIGHT After arriving to Slovenia, pick up your rental car (optional) and drive towards Kranjska Gora, the famous ski resort in the north of the country. Apart fromwinter activities there are also plenty of things to do there in the summer, from various hiking paths to stunning waterfalls and lakes to some more adventurous activities. DAY 2: HIKING TRIP TO ZELENCI AND PLANICA Pick up your lunch package in the morning and head towards Zelenci, the nature reserve and the water spring of Sava Dolinka river. Various water streams emerge from the layers of marl and build the exceptional landscape. Later on continue to Planica, home of the ski jumps and the Nordic centre. Located in between the hills it offers the most stunning panorama, in winter and in summer. Return to hotel for overnight. Duration: 15 km Difficulty: Medium DAY 3: HIKING TRIP TO GOZD MARTULJEK AND ŠUM WATERFALL Today we head to the village of Gozd Martuljek and to the upper Martuljek waterfall. The highest waterfall is particularly spectacular, as it falls 110 meters straight down for a vertical white rock wall. On the way up we also pass the lower Martuljek fall which falls into a narrow gorge that the water has shaped in the stone. Return to hotel for overnight. Duration: 14 km Difficulty: Medium DAY 4: DRIVE TO SOČA VALLEY VIA VRŠIČ (OPTIONAL HIKING TO SLEMENOVA ŠPICA FROM VRŠIČ MOUNTAIN PASS) Check out from the hotel in the morning and drive towards Vršič mountain pass. Road to the top has been built during the 2nd World war, along the way there is still a memorial to those who lost their lives while constructing the road. Optionally you can take the hike to Slemenova Špica, that starts from the top of the pass. Slemenova Špica is a wonderful grassy viewpoint located near Vršič. Throughout the hike we are surrounded by high mountain walls and incredible views. Continue to Soča Valley in the afternoon for check in and overnight. Duration: 10 km Difficulty: Medium DAY 5: RAFTING EXPERIENCE ON RIVER SOČA Today it is time for a different kind of adventure. Emerald river Soča is a perfect destination for various water sports, such as rafting experience. Meet you’re your guide at the arranged meeting point and prepare for a day full of fun, adrenaline and unique experiences. Return to hotel for overnight in the afternoon. Difficulty: Light DAY 6: HIKING TRIP ALONG THE SOČA RIVER TO KOZJAK WATERFALL Kozjak is one of Slovenia’s most beautiful waterfalls. The magnificent 15-meter waterfall plungers down from Krn range though the rocks and therefore offers a stunning view. Before returning to the hotel, take the chance for a walk along the Soča river and admire the many different colours of green and blue that the valley has to offer. Duration: 10 km (starting point Kobarid) Difficulty: Medium DAY 7: DRIVE FROM SOČA VALLEY TO BOHINJ Leave the Soča valley behing and head towards Bohinj, the largest Alpine lake in Slovenia. Bohinj truly is a paradise, embraced by the Julian Alps reflecting on the water surface. Check in to your hotel for overnight. DAY 8: HIKING TRIP TO ŠIJA OR ORLOVA GLAVA FROM MT VOGEL Drive to the lower station of gondola to Mt Vogel, from where you will e taken to the top in aprox. • Discover the green heart of Europe your own way and at your own pace • Explore the hidden corners of Slovenian Alps • Perfect combination of activities
